The location

The Agency is located in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Slovenia, with a population of two million, is part of the Euro zone and the Schengen area. In the collision of four major European geographical units, Slovenia is home to a harsh Alpine climate in the mountains, a sub-Mediterranean climate at the coast, and a continental climate in the north-east lowlands.

The capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana, is a central European city lying between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea. It has all the facilities of a modern capital, and yet it has preserved its small-town friendliness and relaxed atmosphere with less than 300 000 inhabitants and lots of green areas in the city. Ljubljana is Slovenia's political, cultural and economic centre.

Ljubljana offers a number of schooling opportunities. While younger kids are welcomed in a number of nursery schools in Ljubljana, 6-18 year old children have the option to enrol to the international section of the State School - Danila Kumar Elementary and Secondary School, or to one of the three private international schools in Ljubljana: British International School of Ljubljana, QSI International School of Ljubljana and Ecole Française de Ljubljana. At secondary school level, International Baccalaureate is offered by Grammar school Gimnazija Bežigrad as well.

Ljubljana is connected with regular flights to 20 major airports in Europe and can be reached from Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich with daily flights. The nearby airports Klagenfurt, Zagreb and Graz are within reach with a good on-ground infrastructure connection, while Trieste, Venice and Vienna can be reached within a few hours' drive.

Ljubljana is considered to be one of the safest capitals of Europe, with great prosperity and good infrastructure connecting it with the major cities and hubs of Europe, which makes it an easily accessible and a living-friendly destination. Magazine Forbes (2008) declared Ljubljana as the 5th most idyllic place to live in Europe, while recently it has also received the title ‘European Green Capital in 2016' rewarding its commitment to improve the urban environment and achieving high environmental standards.
